NOTES

1 To un-compress the provided files, you will need the following programs:

mac zip/unzip

pc zip/unzip (Win95/98/NT)

2 Installation Instructions:

Once all of the above listed files have been extracted (to the same directory), edited, and uploaded to your site, you will need to link to the file named “walk.html" (or "risen.html") to properly display the animation. NOTE: Any alteration to the HTML code between the <!-- Aftershock...... > and the <!--EndAftershock....--> tags will result in a failure to display the animation correctly.

NOTE: if you are using FontPage, you must edit the HTML code outside of FrontPage... that is, you must add additional HTML code to your document using a text editor. Otherwise FrontPage will delete the portions of HTML code it doesn't understand thereby rendering the Web page incorrectly for most browsers.

3 Using the provided "smart icons"

The icons act as a shockwave "tester" for the users... if a user has shockwave plugin installed in their browser, the icon say's "enter," if they do not have the shockwave plugin installed a standard animated gif displays "plugin-needed" with a link to the plugin download center. These "buttons' ensure that the user doesn’t inadvertantly attempt to view the animation without the shockwave plugin installed.

WARNING: To incorporate the “smart icons” into your site, you will need some basic knowledge of HTML editing.

NOTE: Ensure that the provided files are located within the same directory.

Open either “walk_flash_check.html," or "risen_flash_check.html" and copy all of the code between the <BODY> tags. Then using either "notepad" or "simple text" open the HTML document you wish to insert the icon into. Paste the HTML into an appropriate location within the HTML code then save the document. (Do not copy and paste the body tags, just the code between the tags.) Place the following files into the same directory as the HTML document which contains the “smart icon”:
walk_flash_check.gif and/or risen_flash_check.gif
walk_flash_check.swf and/or risen_flash_check.swf

NOTE: if you are using FontPage, you must edit the HTML code outside of FrontPage... that is, you must add additional HTML code to your document using a text editor. Otherwise FrontPage will delete the portions of HTML code it doesn't understand thereby rendering the Web page incorrectly for most browsers.
